Brixen (Bressanone in Italian) is a city between the Brenner Pass and Bolzano on the E45 motorway that crosses Europe from Norway in the north and Sicily in the south. Therefore, Brixen is very easy to reach by car or train as is it situated next to one of the main passages across the Alps.
It is also the northern end point for the Dolomites Alta Via 2 – probably one of the most beautiful hikes there is.
